Abstract: The crystalline characteristic and heat stability of PET/ PEN blends were studied through DSC, polarization microscope, TG and thermal deformation test. Results showed that crystalline temperature of PEN is high and its crystalline course is long. Meanwhile quick drop intemperature make it crystallize with difficulty or be in capable of crystallization. Crystalline properties of PET/ PEN blends are dependent closely on PEN contents. PET/PEN blends can crystallize with low contents of PEN, but can’t crystallize with 3a %of PEN. Decomposition temperature of PET/ PEN blends is 4℃ higher than that of PEN; Its residual rate is 5.57 % higher than that of PET. Thermal shrinkage of PET/ PEN container decreased with increasing contents of PEN, which showed that the heat stability of PET/ PEN blends was better than that of PET.
