Abstract: With PET-PEN random copolyester as compatibilizer, PET/PEN blends with different PET-PEN copolyester content were prepared by means of twin-screw extruder. The compatibility and other properties of the blends were investigated by DSC, TG, heat distortion temperature test and mechanical test etc..The results showed that PET-PEN copolyester had significant compatibilizing effect on PET/PEN blends and could improve the thermal stability of the blends effectively. The higher PET-PEN copolyester content was ,the more thermal stability of PET/PEN blends was improved.The starting temperature of weight loss increased by 20.3℃when PET-PEN copolyester content was 15phr.The vicat softening temperature ,tensile and bending properties,impact toughness of PET/PEN blends were improved by PET-PEN copolyester. The comprehensive properties of the blends were best when PET-PEN copolyester content was 5phr
